Since I posted my Malcesine Castle Wedding Guide, I’ve been contacted by so many lovely future brides asking about recommendations for Malcesine wedding photos…so I am doing this post just for you!
I knew having great photos was a really important element of our wedding day. I spent a lot of time researching photographers and finding ‘the one’. Unfortunately at the time I got married I couldn’t really find any wedding day photos of Malcesine and am therefore hoping this article helps you future brides and grooms.
Below I’ll share our own Malcesine wedding photos and top tips to give you some wedding day photo inspiration. You’ll find a summary of our Malcesine wedding photos pre-ceremony, ceremony, the reception and around the vicinity of Malcesine.
So here goes…
Malcesine Pre-Wedding Photos
For our pre-wedding photos I really wanted to focus on two things – the little details and the emotions.
For the little details we captured the small details that would come together and create the bridal look. These were the flowers, the dress, the shoes, the perfume and of course, the beautiful bridesmaids.
Our wonderful photographer spent a little time with both the groomsmen and bridal party in order to could capture the buzz and the emotions from both sides.
If you are staying in a hotel with a view, this is also a great opportunity to get some scenic snaps!
Malcesine Wedding Ceremony Photos
Our wedding ceremony was held on the outdoor terrace of Scaliger castle. It was easy to get some beautiful photos of the lake and surrounding area from here.
I opted to pay extra for the flower garland on the gazebo which I am really pleased about because it added a real touch of ‘wedding day’ romance.
After the ceremony there’s time to take photos inside the castle grounds. With plenty of scenic spots around the castle, there’s no shortage of beautiful spaces to take pictures. The balconies, walkways and courtyards all make breath taking pictures.
‘In and Around’ Malcesine Wedding Photos
Malcesine is a medieval town filled to the brim with architecturally stunning backdrops for photos. From winding cobbled streets to stone built arches, a stroll around the town will give you lots of unique wedding day shots.
The ‘Golden Hour’ Wedding Photos
The Golden Hour is the hour before sunset when the sky starts to glow and lighting becomes perfect for wedding photos.
Golden Hour is a really important time of day for wedding photos. Find out your wedding day sunset time and ensure you schedule a session with your photographer for the hour before sunset.
It’s likely you’ll be at your wedding reception venue by the time Golden Hour arrives. Therefore it’s worth considering what’s in the vicinity so that you can plan your ‘settings’ accordingly.
We had exclusive hire of the Al Corsaro restaurant which is right on the lakeside beneath the castle. We used the golden hour to take shots using the calm waters and mountains as backdrops. These are probably my most favourite pictures of the day.
So that’s a wrap on our Malcesine wedding photos. I really hope they have given you some ideas and inspiration for your big day.
Last but not least, a HUGE thank you to our amazing wedding day photographer Jules Bower. You can check out his incredible, award winning wedding photography here.
